I'll show you how to standardize and format phone numbers, email addresses, and dates in your Excel files using predefined patterns and custom formatting rules.
Step 1: Upload Your Excel File
Upload the Excel file containing data that needs formatting. The tool works with .xlsx and .xls files up to 10MB.
Step 2: Select Data Type to Format
Choose what type of data you want to format:
- Phone Numbers: Standardize phone number formats
- Email Addresses: Clean and validate email formats
- Dates: Convert and standardize date formats
- Mixed Data: Auto-detect and format multiple data types
Step 3: Configure Formatting Options
For Phone Numbers:
- Choose target format: (123) 456-7890, 123-456-7890, +1 123 456 7890
- Set country code handling
- Remove or standardize extensions
For Email Addresses:
- Convert to lowercase
- Remove extra spaces
- Validate email format
- Flag invalid emails
For Dates:
- Source format detection
- Target format selection (MM/DD/YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY, etc.)
- Handle ambiguous dates
Step 4: Select Columns to Process
Specify which columns contain the data to format:
- Enter column letters (A, B, C) or ranges (A:C)
- Use auto-detection to identify data types
- Preview data before processing
Step 5: Process and Download
Click "Format Data" to apply formatting rules. The tool will show you a summary of changes made.
