The Hyperlinks menu provides powerful tools for you to manage hyperlinks within the workbook. It makes it easy to access, organize and efficiently handle hyperlinks across cells, sheets, and the workbook.
Features of Hyperlinks
1. Add Hyperlinks
Converts plain text from the selected range such as URLs, file paths, or email addresses into a clickable hyperlink.
Steps
- Select the range of cells that contains the value that you want to convert to hyperlinks.
- Under the Hyperlinks menu, Navigate to the Add Hyperlinks button.
- The tool will check each cell in your selected range:
- If the text is a valid URL, email, or file path, it will convert it into a hyperlink.
- If a cell already has a hyperlink, it will overwrite to new hyperlink.
2. Open Hyperlinks
Opens all the hyperlinks from the selected range
Steps
- Select all ranges of cells with hyperlinks you want to open.
- Click the Open Hyperlinks button.
- The tool will open all valid hyperlinks from your default browser if any URL or files with the respective application and if any invalid hyperlink is found, you will see a pop-up stating:
Invalid hyperlink in cell A2.
3. Remove Hyperlinks
Removes hyperlinks based on the scope you select, leaving the plain text intact.
Options
- Selected Cells: Removes hyperlinks only from the selected cells.
- Current Sheet: Removes all hyperlinks from the active sheet.
- Selected Sheets: Removes hyperlinks from all sheets you selected.
- Entire Workbook: Removes hyperlinks from your entire workbook.
Steps
- Choose the required scope.
- Click on the corresponding Remove Hyperlinks button.
- The tool will remove hyperlinks, keeping the text and default formatting.
